Restaurant Gundel
The Gundel is one of Europe’s finest and most exquisite restaurants, they shall blend with utmost care old traditions with trends of our time in just the right proportion.
The private rooms are suitable for every occasion from intimate conversations through balls and special events. As a reminder that the restaurant’s upper floors were once occupied by the Gundel family, the rooms found there have kept their original names.
The menu in the new Gundel is based on traditional Hungarian cuisine as once practiced by Károly Gundel and his staff. They prepare refined versions of Hungarian dishes; revive traditional fares once eaten at the tables of East European aristocracy and offer specialties of the world’s major culinary cultures. After years of experimentation and extensive testing, they have also developed light versions of Hungarian cuisine, reducing cholesterol and calorie content.
Andrássy Room adjoins the Queen Elisabeth Ballroom, recalling the belle époc of old Budapest. The room has been decorated in the luxurious style of Count Gyula Andrássy with the rich drapery and tassels characteristic of the period. The room is suitable for any social or private function.
